Normalize Talking About Mental Health for Improved Wellness

"Everything human is mentionable and everything mentionable is manageable." - Fred Rogers

I like to say that since we all have minds, mental health awareness is really for all of us. Unfortunately, the stigma surrounding mental health prevents so many individuals from acknowledging what they are dealing with and seeking help. So let's change the conversation and help eliminate the stigma. Fear and shame are two of the main reasons people avoid seeking treatment. Yet, we all have emotional struggles at times - so let's talk about them. As well - let's build our mental wellness, to help us better manage these struggles. Incorporating regular conversations about mental health, what we are struggling with, as well as making seeking help a comfortable and approachable choice as part of our mental wellness is how we break down the judgment and barriers.

Check-in on yourself and others and offer a safe place to be vulnerable and honest.
