How to Overcome your Fears and Take a Leap into Something New

When a friend asked me to attend the Heal Buffalo yoga even March 2018 I thought it sounded like a fun, relaxing day. I had no idea that it would end up being as mind shifting and life changing as it has been.

The room was packed with everyone’s yoga mats butting up against each other. It was a little uncomfortable to be so close to so many strangers - I usually try to build in some personal space. We started off doing a boot camp style workout outside-brrr (yes there is still snow in Buffalo in March). As the day went on we connected with the people around us and the entire room- without saying a word.  Through yoga and mindfulness, inspirational speakers, self reflection activities I was inspired. All I could think was “How can I feel that empowered and sense of connection all the time!” So when I first imagined what this next project would encompass, some of the thoughts at first came to mind was kind of like a modern day Wayne’s World as far as the down to earth with not a lot of fancy sets. I also wanted to incorporate humor and comedy from comedians in cars getting coffee except mine would be “counselors on a couch drinking tea” As well as just that Seinfeld approach that I’m just about nothing and yet everything - all the everyday life experiences that everybody experiences and goes through. I want it to be funny and informative as well as insightful and educational.  Relatable in a way that you feel like you’re hanging out with one of your best friends and you come away feeling empowered and capable and like you’ve got it all together (as much as we can and in today’s crazy world). Like your own personal self-care trainer. Helping you see that by taking care of ourselves it is us paying it forward and helping us do better in all areas of our lives.
